Use coconut oil in place of other
oils in cooking. It is ideal for use, having a high
resistance to heat, and the ability to remain whole without losing its
chemical composition despite exposure to high temperatures. Do not
exceed 350 degrees and lower the temperature if the oil begins to
smoke.
As a hair conditioner, it embellishes the
hair, leaving it soft and silky. In certain countries, the
pulp is used as a balm to stimulate hair growth; a small amount of
virgin coconut oil massaged into the scalp at night conditions both the
hair and scalp. To cure dandruff, wet hair with warm water. Rub at
least a tablespoon into hair and massage into scalp. Wrap head with a
towel and leave on for at least two hours or overnight. Shampoo and
rinse. Repeat when necessary.
As a massage oil and
body lotion, it leaves skin soft and smooth, relieving dry skin
itchiness and other skin diseases, making the skin supple. The elderly
of the Philippines have used raw coconut oil as their before or after
bath lotion for hundreds of years.
"The ideal lotion
is one that not only softens the skin but also protects it against
damage, promotes healing, and gives it a more youthful, healthy
appearance. Pure coconut oil is the best natural skin lotion available.
It prevents free-radical formation and the damage it causes. It can
help prevent the skin from developing liver spots and other blemishes
caused by aging and overexposure to sunlight. In some cases it can even
restore damaged or diseased skin. It helps to keep connective tissues
strong and supple so that the skin doesn’t sag and wrinkle.
People with a variety of skin problems have experienced remarkable
results from using coconut oil. Many people who have tried it
won’t use anything else. When using coconut oil as a lotion,
it is best to apply a small amount and reapply it as often as
necessary. When first applied it may seem like you’re
spreading a very oily substance on your skin, but because it is quickly
absorbed, it doesn’t leave a layer of greasy film the way
many commercial lotions and oil do. If you apply too much oil all at
once, the skin becomes saturated and will not absorb it all. This will
leave a greasy film. People with extremely dry skin need to reapply the
oil often when they first start using it. The real benefit of coconut
oil will come with repeated use over time. While other lotions
temporarily soften dry skin, they won’t heal it. Coconut oil
will gradually soften the skin, removing dead layers, and encourage the
growth of new, healthier tissue. More information on using coconut oil
on problem skin is found in the book by Bruce Fife, “ Coconut
Cures”."
For foot fungus massage the oil
on the feet and work it between the toes at least three times a day.
This a great way to prevent and even treat foot fungus. Feet are often
abused and neglected, causing them to be dry, cracked and infected. We
receive many reports from people telling us how wonderful their feet
look after using coconut oil.

What
is the Shelf Life of Extra VIRGIN Organic Coconut Oil?
Extra VIRGIN organic coconut oil has
been known to not show any signs of rancidity even after 3 years. We
even had people tell us of their oil showing no signs of rancidity even
after 15 years of storage! No refrigeration is necessary.
Is
Coconut Oil a Seed Oil?
No. Coconut oil is
classified as a vegetable oil, even if the coconut fruit that matures
is actually the seed from which the new coconut tree will grow from.
What
is the difference between VIRGIN & COPRA?
If
you buy regular coconut oil, chances are it came from dried copra. This
usually sits in a warehouse and gets oiled after a few months. This is
bleached and deodorized. This is why there is no coconut aroma. High
heat is also used which is why this type of oil is yellowish in color.
Extra
VIRGIN organic coconut oil is cold-pressed immediately upon opening of
the coconut. The oil is extracted before the fermentation process sets
in. It is normally bottled or packed within 8 hours from the time the
nut is opened. This is not bleached nor deodorized, maintaining the
freshness and the sweet coconut scent It will also be clear as water in
liquid form because no high heat was used in it’s processing.
Some
people still use the old fermentation process, which is expelling the
coconut milk then letting the coconut milk sit for 20 to 36 hours to
allow the natural fermentation process to separate the oil. This
process turns the oil sour and has a short shelf life due to the high
moisture content. This home made oil is all right for home use, if the
oil will be used immediately. The shelf life of this type of oil is two
weeks to a maximum of two months. This type of oil turns rancid in a
short period of time because of the high moisture content.
What
is Organic Extra VIRGIN Coconut Oil?
Organic
Extra VIRGIN Coconut oil is Oil produced from a Certified Organic Farm
. The process should have also been Certified as Organic. The
processing plant is also inspected and certified to have used only food
grade equipment, usually only stainless steel. That the processing is
natural with no chemical preservatives or additives.
All
Philippines coconut trees used to be ORGANIC. Today however, we are SAD
to SAY that the Philippines Coconut Authority has started promoting the
use of fertilizer on the coconut trees to improve the yield of nuts
from the coconut trees.
If you are
purchasing Extra VIRGIN COCONUT OIL then the EVCO must be clear as
water and have a sweet coconut scent. If is not clear as water and does
not have a mild coconut aroma then you know it is not Extra VIRGIN
COCONUT OIL.
Fermented Coconut Oil will have a Sour
and Rancid smell. Some producers will also try to filter their
fermented coconut in charcoal to try to remove the sour smell but
instead that process gives the coconut a burnt smell and taste. In Dr.
Bruce Fife’s book Coconut Cures he gives instructions how to
ferment coconut milk if you want to make your own fermented coconut oil
for healing purposes. So, do a smell and taste test.
Not all Virgin coconut Oil are alike. Just like not all
Coconuts are Organic.
We are proud to
inform you that we are distributors for an Organic Coconut Plantation
in the Philippines. The Processing Plant has also
been inspected and certified.
What are the
attributes of Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is
one of the most stable oils and is highly resistant to rancidity.
It is the unsaturated fats in the common seed oils that are
easily oxidized and susceptible to rancidity. It is stable because of
its high proportion of saturated fats. Coconut oil is mild on the skin
and is widely used in the tropics. Film-forming qualities allow it to
act as a skin moisturizer and a protectant against moisture loss. Its
natural detergency and lathering capabilities give a double purpose as
a cleansing agent for soaps and shampoos.
Why
don’t you use glass containers?
So
as not to increase the cost of your Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, our
packaging is in high quality USDA approved PETE plastic canisters. The
PETE canisters are guaranteed to not add toxic materials to the oil.
They are also safer than glass because they do not break and can be
reused over and over again as canisters for other foods or more coconut
oil! We know of no other company that supplies coconut oil in these
wonderful easy to hold canisters. You’ll love them.
